Forming democratic citizenship of a primary school teacher-to-be at a higher pedagogical educational establishment

Abstract

Scientific pedagogical founding of the special educational course «Forming Democratic Citizenship of a Primary School Teacher-toBe in the System of Higher Pedagogical Education» is revealed and its contents have been developed. Prognostic results of the educational subject study as means of realization of democratic principles in the pedagogical process of professional teacher training in the conditions of renovation of Ukrainian society and public activity growing are defined. Study of the educational discipline is aimed at mastering by teachersto-be the historical and pedagogical principles of becoming and presenting citizenship education in the world educational systems in the context of civilizational development of humanity; learning theoretical positions of civil education: essence, pedagogical importance, purpose, tasks, principles, conformities; become proficient at methodical bases and tools (forms, methods, facilities) of realization of tasks of citizenship education in pedagogical process. In total, the considered educational course suggests that future pedagogues study to use modern methods of diagnostic and evaluation of quality of educational process for establishing level of the social standing; to analyse and summarize the fact sheets of pedagogical diagnostics of the civil education and draw its results for perfection of the educational process; to accomplish integration of citizenship education contents in pedagogical activity; to implement the leading forms, methods and facilities of citizenship education in the pedagogical process; to build cooperative relations on principles of social tolerance, democracy, confession and respect to diverse views and persuasions.
